A network of 3 locations in shopping areas and busy corridors
You get a turnkey self-service coffee shop: a kiosk, a coffee machine and a contactless payment terminal. We sign the contract before you pay, and it takes up to 30 days from prepayment to the first cup. In Duisburg we start with the site: a place that lots of people pass every day, early in the morning and late in the evening too.
You pay for the site search only after you sign the lease with the landlord. Contract first, money second.
Tap your district: we will show what is within 1 km.

Duisburg lies where the Ruhr flows into the Rhine and stretches along both banks of the Rhine. Many people commute from here to Düsseldorf or Essen, while others come in from the surrounding area to work in the port, industry and administration. They buy their coffee on the way: on the platform, at the tram stop, on the way to the plant or the office. A self-service coffee shop earns from exactly these people, because they take the cup with them and walk on.
The most important hub is Duisburg Hauptbahnhof with its west and east entrances and the Stadtbahn station underneath. In the city centre people change at König-Heinrich-Platz and Steinsche Gasse, in the south trains stop at Duisburg-Großenbaum, in the north at Meiderich, and on the left bank of the Rhine Rheinhausen is the station for many commuters. Trams run through Hamborn and Marxloh, with stops such as Marxloh Pollmann.
The second group works in shifts. Duisburg has steelworks, port facilities and logistics companies, and at the factory gates, for example at the Thyssen Tor 30 stop, the shifts change. Anyone going to the early shift needs their coffee before most cafés open, and after the late shift many have already closed.
The third group works in offices. At the Innenhafen stand Five Boats, H2 Office, Looper and Pier Eins, right by the Hauptbahnhof, Mercator One and the Silberpalais, and at König-Heinrich-Platz the König City. People who work there grab a coffee in the morning and another one after lunch. Then there are the students of the Universität Duisburg-Essen in Neudorf, around the Zoo/Uni and Universität stops; during the semester break fewer are around, and that belongs in the sales plan.
The indoor coffee shop, turnkey from €6 425, is the most common format. In Duisburg it fits into the FORUM Duisburg or the Königsgalerie, an office building at the Innenhafen, the university, a hospital or the checkout area of a supermarket. Customers arrive dry and warm, and the weather plays no part.
The outdoor coffee shop (from €10 709) suits a city where people also work at night. It sells round the clock in any weather, has a vandal-resistant body and needs no premises. It stands at petrol stations, at stops near large companies or in front of a supermarket in your district. You agree the spot with the owner of the space, for example the supermarket or the petrol station operator.
Cold-drink with iced coffee, shakes and cold drinks is meant for the summer. It suits places where lots of people are outdoors at that time of year: the Landschaftspark Duisburg Nord, the Innenhafen or the Revierpark Mattlerbusch. We quote the price on request.
Whether indoor, outdoor or cold-drink, we decide afresh for each address after seeing how many people pass by there. On request, instead of a coffee machine we will build a turnkey vending machine for ice cream, candyfloss, pizza or ready meals.
The map above shows places in Duisburg that lots of people pass every day: stops, stations, Stadtbahn stations, supermarkets, office buildings, hospitals and universities. Tap your district and see what is nearby. Below are the places where we start in Duisburg.
Duisburg Hauptbahnhof with its west and east entrances, the Stadtbahn stations Duisburg Hauptbahnhof U, König-Heinrich-Platz and Steinsche Gasse, Duisburg-Meiderich, Duisburg-Großenbaum, Rheinhausen. People wait for a train or tram here, and a kiosk on the way to the platform is visible to everyone.
FORUM Duisburg and Königsgalerie in the city centre, AverdunkCentrum near the Hauptbahnhof, Marxloh Center. A spot by the entrance or after the supermarket checkouts sells best, because everyone passes it.
Five Boats, H2 Office, Looper and Pier Eins at the Innenhafen, Mercator One and Silberpalais by the Hauptbahnhof, König City at König-Heinrich-Platz, Tec-Tower. What matters is not how many companies are in the building, but how many people walk through the entrance every day; that is the best place for the kiosk, or by the lifts.
Universität Duisburg-Essen in Neudorf at the Zoo/Uni and Universität stops, Hochschule für Polizei und öffentliche Verwaltung NRW (Campus Duisburg), Fraunhofer-Institut IMS. You agree the spot on campus with the university, and there are fewer students during the semester break.
BG Klinikum Duisburg, Helios St. Johannes Klinik Duisburg in Hamborn, Helios Marien Klinik Duisburg, Helios St. Anna Klinik in Huckingen, Sana Kliniken Duisburg, Evangelisches Krankenhaus Bethesda, Johanniter Krankenhaus Rheinhausen. Visitors and shift staff buy coffee here, late in the evening and at weekends too.
Marxloh, Hamborn, Meiderich, Rheinhausen, Homberg, Walsum, Neudorf, Huckingen. A location next to Netto, Aldi, Lidl or Penny, at a tram stop, by the corner kiosk (Bude) or a Packstation parcel locker has regular customers from the neighbourhood who come back every morning. We put it on the side of the street that people take to the train or to their shift in the morning.
Do you already have your eye on a spot in Duisburg, in a shopping mall, at a station or in front of a supermarket? Send us the address, and we will work out the income for that site free of charge. If you do not have an address yet, we take over the search: we check the footfall, negotiate with the landlord and show you several options. You pay for the search only after you sign the lease with the landlord, and only if you like the site.
Find a site in Duisburg →A turnkey indoor coffee shop costs from €6 425 incl. VAT. Outdoor coffee shop: from €10 709. Cold-drink: price on request. Installation anywhere in Germany is charged separately from the price of the coffee shop.
The basic set includes a Kavil-branded kiosk with LED lighting, a Saeco or Jetinno coffee machine, a terminal for card and smartphone payments, Kavil brand design and telemetry. The final price depends mainly on the coffee machine model, and also on the options and the installation. Banknote and coin acceptors and a custom design can be added separately.
You pay in two parts, and only after signing the contract, which sets out the coffee machine model, the equipment, the amount and the deadlines. You make the prepayment after signing and pay the rest at installation. After that, each month you pay rent, taxes and the bank fee for card payments, and you buy ingredients and cups. You do not hand us any percentage of your sales.
Not everyone in Duisburg works nine to five. People on shifts at a plant, in the port or at a hospital are out early in the morning, late in the evening or at night, when most cafés and bakeries are closed. An outdoor coffee shop that sells round the clock can make use of exactly these hours. For a spot right at a factory gate or on company premises, though, you need the consent of the company, and we sort that out during the site search.
On the Duisburg map, Netto, Aldi and Lidl are the most common supermarkets. A location next to one of them sees lots of customers who shop almost every day and so become regulars. Rheinhausen and Homberg on the left bank of the Rhine have their own centres and their own routes, and a location there relies on local residents. That is why we calculate each address separately, taking into account the footfall, the drink price, the equipment and the rent of that exact site.
You need no business experience. We open turnkey coffee shops even for people who have never run a business: we train you from scratch, and from the day the contract is signed you have a personal manager. We help you with the bank account and the payment terminal step by step.
It all starts with a conversation. You leave your number, we call back, calculate the income for the site you have chosen in Duisburg, put together the equipment package and show you the inside of the coffee shop on Zoom. This stage moves at your pace. You read the contract before you pay, and the countdown starts with the prepayment: it takes up to 30 days from then to the first cup. In that time we build the coffee shop in our own workshop, look for a site if you ask us to, and then deliver, install and set up the coffee shop.
Looking after the location itself takes about 15 minutes once every two or three days: topping up ingredients and collecting the takings. You can easily combine this with your main job. You see sales and stock levels on your smartphone, so you know when it is time to go to the location.
Taras has a network of 3 locations in retail areas and busy walkways. After 5 months of operation it brought him more than €1 770 of net profit a month. Bohdan has 1 indoor location by an entrance: 80 drinks a day and more than €880 a month after 6 months. Vladyslav has 2 indoor locations with steady footfall: more than €1 480 of net profit a month after 5 months.
Kavil partners’ figures (December 2024), converted to euros. Results vary from location to location: these are examples, not a guarantee. Coffee prices, rents and costs depend on the site, so we do not carry these figures over directly. We calculate the income for your address in Duisburg separately and free of charge.
You buy the equipment, and the business is entirely yours: 0 royalties, so no monthly share of your sales goes to us. We roast our own coffee, and you buy our beans 25% cheaper than from competitors. We build the coffee shops in our own workshop, buy Saeco and Jetinno coffee machines directly, with no dealer markup, and you get beans, ingredients and cups from us with no middlemen. Thanks to telemetry, you see sales and stock levels on your smartphone every day.
The equipment comes with a warranty, and we write its term into the contract. If sales drop, we go through the figures together, and if the site turns out to be weak, we plan a move. If you change your mind or the location does not work out, we will buy back the equipment at 60% of its value; the buyback terms are in the contract. Would you like several coffee shops in Duisburg at once? Ask about our wholesale offer: from 2 to 10 locations.
Yes, if there is something near you that people pass every day: a tram stop, a supermarket, a corner kiosk (Bude), a Packstation, a post office or a petrol station. In Meiderich, Homberg or Huckingen such a location sells coffee every morning to the same neighbours on their way to work. Tap your district on the map and see what is nearby. Then send us the address, and we will calculate the income for that exact site free of charge.
